Make a meaningful impact working onsite as a Special Education Teacher focused on Essential Life Skills education for high school students. This contract opportunity, situated near Independence, MO, runs through late May 2027 and offers a rewarding environment where your expertise will empower 7–9 students in their daily and future independence.

In this role, you'll utilize your specialized skills to support a small, dedicated caseload, working in a structured and supportive educational setting. Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification.
• Experience in Life Skills or Essential Skills instruction preferred.
• Previous work with high school students in special education settings ideal.
• Proficiency in developing and adapting Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Demonstrated patience, adaptability, and a sincere commitment to student achievement.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction to a high school caseload (7–9 students) in the Essential Life Skills program.
• Develop, modify, and implement IEPs in alignment with best practices.
• Encourage student self-advocacy and social skills in classroom routines.
• Track student progress and adjust strategies as appropriate.
• Engage with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic support.
