Financial Analyst 2

Overview This position is responsible for clinical financial analysis to support the department’s clinical mission. It involves complex and varied financial and analytical work to provide financial information to faculty and staff for clinical contracts and state funded clinical grants. Key Responsibilities Financial analysis and reporting related to the clinical mission, including clinical contracts and state funded clinical grants. In partnership with the Associate Director of Clinical Operations, develop business plans to support ongoing clinical mission, business plans for potential new recruitments and clinical contracts; maintain faculty salary spreadsheet ensuring compliance with the faculty compensation plan; develop starting salaries for new clinical faculty hires. Partner with the Office of General Counsel on contract development and review of terms and conditions. Anticipate, identify, and raise potential financial opportunities, issues, risks, ideas and solutions; employ judgment and expertise in identifying appropriate stakeholders for consultations, communications, approvals or buy‑ins for designing and implementing changes. Accounting and reconciliation: Accurately record enterprise or subsystem transactions and verify other entries to ensure accuracy of balance sheets, income statements and other financial activities; perform complex multi‑system reconciliations and navigate multiple complex systems and reporting tools to investigate and resolve routine and non‑routine discrepancies. Principal Responsibilities Financial modeling and forecasting: provide technical analysis to determine present and future financial performance; organize data from a variety of sources for analysis of future plans and forecasts; collaborate with all levels of management to gather, analyze, summarize, prepare, and present recommendations regarding financial plans and other complex financial matters; research and evaluate information, resolve issues, make recommendations, develop and/or execute complex financial models. Financial analysis and reporting: analyze and synthesize information; design and create accurate and timely reports; design financial reporting to meet compliance needs of internal and external users; extract and consolidate data from multiple sources. Financial methods and systems: contribute to the planning and improvement of practices, processes and systems; collaborate with internal and external contacts to carry out department goals; provide high‑level service, cultivate and maintain strong working relationships and communicate effectively; take ownership and accountability for timeliness, accuracy and relationship management. Strategic resource: translate department finance goals into objectives; identify and raise potential financial opportunities, issues, risks, ideas and solutions; identify appropriate stakeholders for consultations, communications, approvals or buy‑ins for designing and implementing changes. Compliance and risk management: establish, implement and/or maintain strong internal controls; provide reasonable assurance of effective and appropriate resource use, accurate financial information and adherence to contractual obligations, agreements, policies, procedures and external regulatory requirements. Mentor, lead and/or supervise staff. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Abilities Demonstrated knowledge of the state contracting system. Demonstrated understanding of RVU benchmarks. Proactive, resourceful, and strategic thinker with strong attention to detail; proven analytical ability; able to explain data and financial information accurately and clearly; ability to resolve complex issues with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal skills and customer service. Excellent computer skills. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance and four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience; demonstrated application of financial, accounting and economic concepts. Compensation Salary range: $68,000.00 – $120,500.00. Employment Conditions Full time, Staff, Hybrid work model.
