Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Location: Margate, FL

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Job Description: The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) will provide specialized nursing care in the surgical environment, ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures. Candidates must possess strong clinical skills and the ability to function effectively in a high-paced, dynamic surgical setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and evaluations of patient needs preoperatively and postoperatively.
• Administer medications and manage intravenous lines and equipment.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain sterile field and provide assistance during surgical procedures as a scrub and circulator.
• Document all nursing care in the Meditech documentation system.
• Be on-call for 1-2 shifts during the week and 1 weekend shift every 4 weeks.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of current experience in an acute OR setting, specifically in ortho, spine, and joint replacement.
• Experience with knee and hip replacement procedures is required.
• PALS and CNOR certifications are preferred.
• Charge experience is a plus.
