Branch Supervisor

General Overview Demonstrates a highly motivated, positive, outgoing personality to ensure that unsurpassed member service is continuously provided by every team member. Maximizes every opportunity to increase membership, refers consumer and real estate loans, and promotes e‑services to the membership in the branch. Must possess skills to motivate team members to work together to achieve goals in the absence of the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager. Duties and Responsibilities Assists in motivating all team members to provide an unsurpassed level of member service, meeting and exceeding expectations with every interaction. Ensures a smooth working relationship with other department team members when their assistance is needed. Maintains quality and quantity of work; assigns, directs, coordinates and reviews work. Has thorough knowledge of all products and services offered by the credit union, including shares, consumer loans and e‑services. Accurately takes applications for consumer loan products and provides referrals to the Loan Sales team for real‑estate loan products. Assists in processing and closing consumer loans. Participates in the Sales Incentive Program. Refers appropriate members to the First New York Retirement and Investments Services Program. Assures both account and loan servicing issues are processed correctly and resolution is communicated to the member in a timely manner. Illustrates the ability to analyze member problems and find beneficial solutions quickly. Works closely with the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager to ensure all team members follow policies and procedures applicable to their positions, maintaining compliance with government and credit union regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act. When the Branch Manager is absent, is responsible for determining that proper control and individual accountability of cash and the handling of cash are in accordance with regulations and accepted accounting principles. Performs routine audits of teller cash and other negotiable security and branch logs in accordance with written procedures. Oversees branch balancing in conjunction with other branch supervisors. Ensures that new employees are thoroughly trained in all phases of their particular job and cross‑trains staff as appropriate. Supports the Branch Manager in achieving the goals established for the branch. Assists the Branch Manager in attaining all goals related to Community Outreach activities. Conducts reviews of all new memberships to ensure quality control and compliance standards are met. Authorizes exceptions to normal policy or procedures when circumstances warrant and where deviation is justified. Maintains Notary Public status. Performs other duties as may be assigned. Requirements Financial institution experience is a must. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate team members. Detailed knowledge of all branch functions. Familiarity with banking or credit union policies and procedures. Respect for confidential information. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Thorough knowledge of PC software programs and internet navigation. Accurate, thorough, and neat work habits. Reports To: Branch Manager of North Greenbush and Albany Work Schedule: Varied.
