This OpportunityHelp Drive the Business Side of Project DeliveryWSP is seeking an organized, analytical, and proactive Deputy Project Manager for our Seattle, WA office, to support the financial management and operational delivery of our growing Construction Management practice. Other locations include Tacoma, Vancouver, Portland, OR and Bend OR. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of project execution, financial performance, reporting, contract administration, and client service.The Deputy Project Manager will support multiple active construction management assignments and serve as a key member of the project leadership team. This individual will help project managers and resident engineers maintain budget control, forecast resource needs, track contract performance, prepare client reports, support invoicing, monitor project financial health, and ensure projects remain audit-ready and compliant with agency requirements. Responsibilities align with project accounting, budget tracking, invoicing support, documentation management, and project administration functions identified within WSP's CM delivery framework. Your ImpactFinancial ManagementMonitor project budgets, labor utilization, and contract performance across multiple construction management assignments.Prepare monthly financial reports, forecasts, and project performance summaries.Support project managers with earned revenue projections, backlog tracking, and resource forecasting.Review labor charges, consultant invoices, reimbursable expenses, and project expenditures for accuracy.Assist with budget development, task order tracking, and contract modifications.Identify budget risks and recommend corrective actions before impacts occur.Reporting & Project ControlsDevelop and maintain project dashboards for executive leadership, project managers, and clients.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual project status reports.Track key performance indicators including budget, schedule, staffing, utilization, invoicing, and collections.Support development of executive-level reporting for business operations and portfolio management.Analyze project trends and provide recommendations to improve performance and profitability.Contract AdministrationSupport project managers with contract compliance requirements.Track amendments, task orders, subcontract agreements, and contract funding authorizations.Maintain documentation supporting federally funded, state-funded, and municipal projects.Assist with change management processes and documentation control.Support internal and external audits by maintaining complete and accurate project records.Project Delivery SupportCoordinate with project managers, resident engineers, inspectors, and accounting staff.Assist with staffing plans, workload forecasting, and resource management activities.Support proposal development and project startup activities.Facilitate coordination between project teams and corporate support functions.Help standardize project management processes across the Construction Management practice.Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.#LI-TD1Who You AreRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field or equivalent,Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting project financials, project controls, project management, or construction management programs.Strong understanding of project budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and financial reporting.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Experience preparing executive-level reports and dashboards.Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.Preferred Qualifications:Experience supporting public agency transportation, transit, utility, or infrastructure projects.Familiarity with WSDOT, local agency, FHWA, FTA, FRA, or federally funded project requirements.Experience with project management and ERP systems.Project controls, scheduling, accounting, or financial analysis experience.PMP certification or pursuit of PMP certification.Experience working in a professional engineering or construction management consulting environment.What You'll BringStrong business acumen and financial discipline.Ability to identify issues early and recommend practical solutions.Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.Confidence working with project managers, executives, and clients.Desire to improve processes and help scale a growing business.Why This Role MattersThis position plays a critical role in the success of our Construction Management practice.
