Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Summary:


Seeking an experienced Stroke Coordinator with a strong background in neuro care or a keen interest in transitioning into this specialized role. The ideal candidate will support stroke survey readiness and demonstrate expertise in neuro-specific assessments and protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate stroke programs by implementing clinical protocols and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.
• Conduct neuro assessments, including NIHSS evaluations, and monitor patient progress.
• Educate staff on stroke recognition, response, and ongoing care practices.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate stroke patient transitions and documentation accuracy.
• Maintain survey readiness by auditing clinical processes and updating protocols as needed.
• Manage on-call responsibilities and respond to acute neuro patient needs promptly.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid California RN license with recent Nursys verification.
• Possess BLS certification and current AHA or ARC certifications.
• Have 2-3 years of nurse experience in emergency or neuro-critical care, with a preference for neuro-specific skills.
• Demonstrate strong neuro assessment capabilities, including NIHSS proficiency.
• Comply with Tier 3 travel regulations and submit required certifications and references within specified timeframes.
