Solutions Designer

The Senior Solutions Designer is responsible for leading the design, development, and enhancement of complex, high-profile technology solutions. This role involves providing technical leadership in application design, testing strategies, and implementation, with a focus on cloud-based technologies, healthcare data standards, and security compliance. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, scalable, and secure solutions aligned with business and operational needs. Responsibilities:

• Advise on testing strategies, test plans, tools, and resource requirements.
• Plan and organize testing efforts for large systems across GUI and non-GUI environments.
• Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, scripts, and cases including functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
• Identify, document, and track software defects; collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Micro Focus UFT, Selenium, TestComplete, Postman, JMeter, or LoadRunner.
• Conduct performance, stress, load, and security testing ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, project managers, and security specialists to clarify requirements and ensure quality.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Maintain detailed documentation of test results, coverage, and quality metrics; contribute to user manuals and release notes.
• Lead technical design activities coordinating application software, hardware, and network requirements.
• Oversee solution development, testing, installation, and monitoring, ensuring adherence to privacy and security standards.
• Work with architects and infrastructure teams to define deployment and ensure compliance with GO-ITS and internal standards.
• Monitor project progress, manage risks and issues, and report to management.

• Proven experience as a technical design specialist for complex, large-scale technology solutions.
• Experience with cloud-based technologies including containerization, orchestration, and microservices.
• Working knowledge of healthcare data exchange standards, specifically Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR).
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages: JavaScript ES6+, Spring Framework, Quarkus, Angular 9+, Angular Material, TypeScript, Node.js, HTML5, CSS3.
• Experience with automated testing tools and version control systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Agile software development processes using tools such as VSTS/Azure DevOps.
• Strong knowledge of security and privacy requirements in software development, especially in healthcare contexts.
• Experience in functional, integration, regression, performance, and security testing methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to produce detailed design and development artifacts and collaborate with architecture and infrastructure teams.

• Experience with information retrieval packages and object-oriented testing methods.
• Knowledge of Information Management principles, policies, and practices.
• Experience coding automated test scripts and testing Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Bash for automation and test data setup.
• Experience with tools like ALM, JIRA, Bugzilla, TestRail, Zephyr, Selenium, Cypress, and Postman for API testing.
• Ability to develop and manage test data strategies ensuring data privacy and integrity.
• Experience conducting penetration testing in collaboration with security specialists.
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Visio, and SharePoint.
• Strong facilitation, negotiation, and customer service skills.

• Onsite work required at the designated OPS office location.
• Strict adherence to security and privacy standards in healthcare IT environments.
• Compliance with Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and related regulations.
• Ability to work under high-risk, high-profile project conditions with tight deadlines.
• Collaboration with multiple stakeholders including security architects, privacy SMEs, and infrastructure teams.

• Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7.25 hours per day between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, excluding lunch breaks.
• Onsite presence required during standard working hours at the OPS office location.
