Major Duties of the Position:

• Provide quality outpatient anesthesiology services in our progressive, innovative health care system for the veteran population.
• Deliver patient-centered anesthetic care for a variety of outpatient procedures across multiple specialties.
• Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients undergoing outpatient procedures.
• Administer anesthetics, monitor patients' vital signs during procedures, and manage patients' post-anesthesia recovery.
• Collaborate with surgeons, proceduralists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care.
• Manage pain control and provide consultative services for patients experiencing acute and chronic pain in the outpatient setting.
• Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows, contributing to educational development programs affiliated with the University of New Mexico, School of Medicine.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care, teaching, and research, and be eligible for a faculty appointment in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of New Mexico.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care for outpatient anesthesia patients.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
