Position Details The Department of Economics seeks to fill two full‑time non‑tenure‑track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Full Teaching Professor. The primary teaching responsibility is macroeconomics, especially large sections of Principles of Macroeconomics, with additional responsibility for graduate‑level macroeconomics courses (MS‑level and, where qualified, PhD‑level). Secondary interests in machine learning, computational economics, or data‑intensive methods are desirable. This is an academic‑year teaching faculty position with a promotion track from Assistant to Associate to Full Teaching Professor. The appointment is at Northeastern’s Boston campus, full‑time, benefits‑eligible, with an expected start date of August 17, 2026. Responsibilities Teach a teaching load of six courses per academic year (three courses each semester). Provide student advising and participate in professional development and service activities. Qualifications Ph.D. in Economics or a related field completed by the employment start date. Strong record of exemplary teaching and/or sufficient promise. Applicant seeking Associate level must already hold an Associate Teaching Professor rank or comparable experience; applicant seeking Full level must already hold that rank or comparable experience. The teaching statement should describe past instructional and mentorship experiences, pedagogical philosophy, and plans for teaching at Northeastern.
