This role helps ensure vehicles are tested, verified, and built correctly across GM assembly plants globally.You will work across manufacturing, software, IT, validation, and plant teams to develop and improve applications that support electrical testing, issue resolution, and first-time quality.This is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who enjoys solving complex software problems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and mentoring other developers along the way.What You’ll DoDesign, develop, test, and maintain software applications used in vehicle electrical testing and manufacturing validationTroubleshoot and root-cause software and system issues affecting manufacturing test processesSupport application validation on benches, development hardware, and vehiclesPartner with manufacturing, IT, product engineering, and plant teams to deploy reliable solutionsLead technical problem-solving across multiple projects and help drive priorities to completionMentor and support less-experienced developers through technical challenges and best practicesContribute to continuous improvement of manufacturing software tools, processes, and system performanceHelp ensure software solutions integrate effectively with plant and enterprise systemsYour Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experienceSignificant professional experience in software development, typically 7+ years, with demonstrated technical leadershipStrong programming experience in one or more languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, or similarProven ability to debug and troubleshoot complex systems, including interactions between software and physical componentsExperience developing or supporting software in manufacturing, industrial, test systems, embedded-adjacent, or similar technical environmentsExperience working in cross-functional environments with technical and non-technical stakeholdersWhat Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)Experience with automotive manufacturing, end-of-line testing, or vehicle diagnosticsFamiliarity with CAN, UDS, DoIP, or similar communication protocolsExposure to firmware, hardware-integrated software, or embedded systemsFamiliarity with GitHub, Jira, and Visual StudioExperience with vehicle electrical systems, validation systems, or plant-floor applicationsExperience supporting production-critical applications in high-availability environmentsExperience in an assembly plant or industrial operations settingAdditional InformationThis role is based onsite at Warren Tech CenterUp to 10% domestic and international travel may be requiredIf you’re excited about building software that connects digital systems to physical products, and want to play a key role in the future of manufacturing, we encourage you to apply, even if your experience doesn’t match every qualification.#LI-MH1This role is categorized as onsite.
