We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Payroll Coordinator to join a high-volume payroll team within a large, multi-location organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working with employee timesheets or timekeeping who wants to develop a long-term career in payroll. Full-cycle payroll experience is not required . You'll receive exposure to payroll operations while supporting timekeeping, employee inquiries, payroll tickets, audits, reporting, and other payroll administration.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and naturally curious-someone who doesn't simply complete a task, but recognizes when something doesn't look right and takes initiative to investigate or ask questions.

Key Responsibilities

Timekeeping & Payroll Support

• Review, edit, and correct employee timesheets to ensure hours are accurately captured for payroll.
• Research missing or incorrect hours and coordinate with employees and managers to resolve discrepancies.
• Assist the payroll team with audits and validation activities prior to payroll processing.
• Review payroll information for accuracy and escalate potential issues when necessary.
• Support additional payroll administration and special projects as assigned.

Payroll Ticket Management & Employee Support

• Monitor, assign, and respond to employee requests through the payroll ticketing system.
• Research questions related to missing pay, hours, timekeeping, and other payroll matters.
• Communicate directly with employees to gather information and resolve routine payroll issues.
• Escalate more complex payroll concerns to the appropriate team member while maintaining timely employee communication.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow established payroll processes and service expectations.

Payroll Administration

• Assist with union reporting and monitoring as needed.
• Coordinate garnishment documentation by receiving, organizing, and submitting information to the appropriate payroll provider for processing.
• Support employment verification-related requests and payroll documentation.
• Maintain confidential employee and payroll records with a high degree of accuracy and discretion.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with timesheets, timekeeping, employee hours, or time-and-attendance processes required .
• Previous payroll experience is helpful but not required .
• Experience in a Payroll Assistant, Timekeeper, HR/Payroll Coordinator, Operations Administrator, or similar role is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong follow-through with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Comfortable learning new systems and processes; UKG experience is a plus but not required .
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer-service mindset with the ability to calmly and professionally assist employees with pay-related concerns.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
