Pharmacy Tech Contract Position

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join the pharmacy team at Mount Nittany Medical Center. The Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists in preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have prior hospital pharmacy experience and a commitment to providing safe, high-quality patient care.

Position Details:

• Location: State College PA 16801
• Duration: 13 weeks Contract
• Pay Range: $25- $30/hr
• Shift: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 10:15 AM – 8:45 PM /10-hour shifts (40 hours/week)

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, package, label, and distribute medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Accurately fill medication orders and maintain inventory of medications and supplies.
• Assist with medication storage, restocking, and expiration date monitoring.
• Operate automated medication dispensing systems and pharmacy technology.
• Maintain accurate patient medication records and pharmacy documentation.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and hospital pharmacy regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service to nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy work environment.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support departmental goals.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacy Technician Registration or Pharmacy Technician Trainee Registration required.
• Minimum 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Licensure:

• Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee registration through the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy required.
