August 3: 5:00 PM 2:00 AM August 4: 5:00 PM 2:00 AM August 5: 5:00 PM 2:00 AM August 6: 5:00 PM 2:00 AM August 6: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM August 7: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM August 8: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM August 8: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM Practice Setting Emergency Department Level III Trauma Center Teaching Hospital 250-bed facility Epic EMR Clinical Responsibilities Emergency Department coverage Evaluation and treatment of acute medical conditions Trauma assessment and stabilization Supervision of Advanced Practice Providers Participation in a teaching environment Volume & Staffing Approximately 33,000 annual ED visits Average daily ED volume: 77 patients Day coverage: 1 2 physicians plus 1 2 APPs Night coverage: 1 physician Transfer rate less than 3% Qualifications Required Board Certified Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or Board Certified Family Medicine Active Iowa License or Active IMLC Clean background history Ability to obtain privileges quickly Current ACLS and PALS certifications through AHA (waived for ABEM-boarded physicians) ATLS required for trauma privileges Additional Requirements Providers with an active Iowa license should specify available July shifts. Providers utilizing IMLC should specify available August shifts. Credentialing team prefers providers with straightforward work histories to facilitate expedited privileging.
