Registered Nurse Neurology

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in this outpatient neurology clinic provides comprehensive nursing support for patients with various neurological conditions such as traumatic brain injury, stroke, and substance abuse. The role involves managing clinical communications, coordinating lab and imaging orders, supporting high acuity patients including infusion therapies, and ensuring accurate documentation to promote patient safety and continuity of care. The nurse must be patient, well-rounded, and proficient in using Epic electronic health records. Responsibilities:

• Manage Epic nurse in-boxes and work queues efficiently.
• Triage and respond to patient phone calls and MyChart messages promptly.
• Process medication refill requests and route for provider signature as needed.
• Coordinate lab orders, imaging orders, and results management.
• Support high acuity neurology patients, including infusion-related coordination such as Leqembi therapy.
• Transcribe and document voicemail messages into Epic accurately.
• Process inbound clinical faxes requiring provider review or signature.
• Abstract and enter specialized lab results, including genetic testing from Invitae and GeneDx.
• Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation within the scope of nursing practice.
• Support patient safety and continuity of care across assigned providers.
• Perform other nursing duties as assigned within the Registered Nurse scope of practice.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in Washington state or Compact RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of six months nursing experience; first-time nurses accepted.
• Proficiency in Epic electronic health record system.
• Strong communication and patient care coordination skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience or familiarity with neurology patient care and infusion therapies.
• Previous experience managing clinical communications and documentation in an outpatient setting.

Special Considerations:

• Must provide three interview availability times including time zone when submitting candidacy.
• No call no show policy applies and may affect future employment opportunities within the health system.
• Floating within nursing scope may be required as needed.
• No weekend or on-call requirements for this position.
• Return to onsite (RTO) work requirements to be confirmed with hiring manager.

Scheduling:

• Regular schedule of five 8-hour day shifts per week.
• Shift assignments are day shifts with no weekend work required.
