Accountant - Consultant

Overview Accountant – Consultant, Birmingham, AL (Hybrid). A growing technology-focused company in Birmingham is seeking an Accounting Consultant to support its finance team during a period of growth and process improvement. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financials, supporting the close process, and helping enhance overall accounting operations. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on accounting work with broad exposure across the full cycle in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations Support and help drive the month-end close and financial reporting process Perform variance analysis and assist with ad hoc reporting needs Review and improve accounting processes and internal controls Assist with audit support , including preparation of schedules and documentation Oversee or support AP/AR activities , including billing, collections, and issue resolution Partner cross-functionally to improve workflows and reporting accuracy Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of accounting experience (public or corporate) Strong background in general ledger accounting and month-end close Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills Exposure to AP/AR processes and process improvement initiatives Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills This is an immediate need for a consultant who can step in quickly, contribute to day-to-day accounting, and help strengthen processes as the organization continues to scale. #J-18808-Ljbffr
