About the Role:

We are hiring on behalf of our client, a professional investment consulting firm that provides strategic insights, market intelligence, and advisory support to clients exploring global investment opportunities.

Our client is currently expanding its focus on investment opportunities across Africa and is seeking experienced professionals with strong knowledge of African markets, investment trends, policy environments, regulatory landscapes, and business opportunities.

Job Overview:

The client is looking for Africa-focused experts who can provide practical, high-quality insights to support investment decision-making across African markets. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in Africa-focused investment, policy, trade, economic development, market research, consulting, international relations, or sector-specific advisory work.

The selected consultant will support the client by analyzing investment opportunities, regulatory environments, market risks, growth sectors, and country-specific developments across Africa. Candidates do not need to be experts in every African country. Strong expertise in one region, country, sector, or investment theme is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Research and analyze investment opportunities across African markets, including key sectors, growth trends, risks, and market entry considerations.

2. Provide insights on political, economic, regulatory, and business conditions affecting investment decisions in Africa.

3. Monitor policy changes, trade developments, infrastructure plans, government initiatives, and regional market trends.

4. Assess sector-specific opportunities in areas such as energy, infrastructure, mining, agriculture, fintech, healthcare, logistics, telecom, manufacturing, real estate, and consumer markets.

5. Prepare concise written reports, briefings, market updates, or advisory notes for the client.

6. Help identify strategic risks, local business practices, potential barriers, and competitive dynamics.

7. Use professional experience and regional knowledge to provide context beyond standard public reports, while maintaining strict ethical and confidentiality standards.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The client is especially interested in candidates with one or more of the following backgrounds:

1. Africa-focused investment consultants, market analysts, country risk analysts, or strategy advisors.

2. Professionals with experience in private equity, venture capital, development finance, infrastructure investment, trade, or cross-border business involving Africa.

3. Former or current professionals from international development organizations, policy institutions, think tanks, trade bodies, government agencies, or diplomatic/commercial advisory roles.

4. Consultants or researchers with expertise in African political economy, regulatory environments, regional trade, or investment strategy.

5. Professionals with direct experience working with African governments, businesses, investors, development institutions, or multinational companies operating in Africa.

6. Sector specialists with deep Africa experience in energy, infrastructure, mining, agriculture, fintech, healthcare, logistics, telecommunications, or related industries.

Requirements:

1. Must be based in the United States or have strong professional ties to U.S.-based investors, institutions, or advisory networks.

2. Strong knowledge of African markets, investment environments, policy trends, and business risks.

3. Professional background in investment advisory, consulting, public policy, international relations, economic development, trade, finance, or a related field.

4. Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, practical, and business-focused insights.

5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

6. Ability to work independently on a part-time or project-based basis.

7. Strong commitment to confidentiality, accuracy, and professional ethical standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience advising investors, companies, governments, development finance institutions, or international organizations on Africa-related opportunities.

2. Existing professional network across African markets, policy circles, investment groups, or sector-specific industries.

3. Deep expertise in one or more African regions, such as West Africa, East Africa, Southern Africa, North Africa, or Sub-Saharan Africa more broadly.

4. Strong understanding of investment risks, regulatory challenges, political dynamics, and market entry strategies.
