The firm is recognized by SuperLawyers for its success representing clients in Cleveland and across Ohio. Its trial attorneys handle a wide range of cases, including minor car accidents, catastrophic injuries, medical malpractice, and wrongful death, and work to secure the full value of each client’s claim. The firm operates on a contingency fee basis, collecting payment only when a settlement or verdict is recovered. For clients who cannot travel, Obral Silk & Pal also offers home consultations.
Role Description The Litigation Paralegal will support attorneys in all phases of personal injury litigation in a full-time, on-site role based in Akron, OH. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and organizing legal documents, assisting with pleadings and motions, and managing case files and discovery materials. The role involves conducting legal research, summarizing medical records and deposition transcripts, and coordinating with clients, medical providers, and insurance companies. The Litigation Paralegal will help maintain case calendars, track deadlines, and support attorneys in trial preparation and settlement negotiations. This position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in legal document preparation and document review.
- Candidates should possess solid experience in legal research to support personal injury litigation. (Plaintiffs or Defense).
- Candidates should possess knowledge and practical experience in drafting and managing pleadings and motions.
- Candidates should possess strong organizational, time management, and case management abilities.
- Candidates should possess clear written and verbal communication skills and a client-centered mindset.
- Relevant experience as a litigation or personal injury paralegal is preferred.
- An associate’s or bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certification is beneficial.
- Proficiency with legal case management software and standard office applications is an asset.
