QC FAB Inspector - 1st Shift

QC Fab Inspector

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated QC Fab Inspector with a working knowledge of manufacturing and distribution. In this role, you will be responsible for the timely processing of all quality requirements and other various organizational roles.

As a QC Fab Inspector, you will act as the company's representative when working with suppliers, customers, fabrication personnel, quality personnel, and packaging/shipping personnel. Unresolved, reoccurring, or severe quality issues will be escalated to the Quality Manager and worked through to a final disposition as a team.

Shift & Compensation

• 1st Shift (Day): 6:30 AM 3:00 PM

• Pay Range: $23.00 $26.00 per hour (Starting pay is dependent on experience)

Essential Job Functions

• Blueprint reading and interpretation; inspect parts utilizing the proper selection of measurement gauges to meet customer requirements and expectations.

• Maintain proper filing and retrieval of quality documents and quality alerts.

• Support manufacturing and distribution PPAP submissions per customer requirements and AIAG 4th edition PPAP guidelines.

• Complete FAIRs, DIPs, TDPs, visual inspections of distribution items, and other similar quality functions.

• Conduct incoming tooling reviews; resolve issues by collaborating closely with the NPI team.

• Follow all established quality management system procedures and work instructions.

• Verify that data stated on material or hardware certifications matches all requirements.

• Physically confirm that incoming hardware and parts received from outside processing are conforming by measuring and counting parts when required.

• Manage timely supplier communication to resolve and escalate quality-related notices.

• Assist with processing and completing all RMAs and Customer/Vendor discrepancies, including CSI/Syteline entries.

Knowledge & Skills

• Technical Skills: Proficient in blueprint reading, interpretation, and application. Proficient in the use of common inspection tools and equipment.

• Quality Systems: Familiar with PSWs, dimensional validation reports, control plans, process flows, PFMEAs, CPK Studies, Gauge R&R, material test reports, C of Cs, and supplier info.

• Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills, including Excel, PDF Professional, Word, and Microsoft Office.

• Core Competencies: Strong problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and risk assessment management.

Education and Experience

• High school graduate or equivalent (some college preferred).

• A minimum of 2 years of work-related experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Position involves stooping, crouching, reaching, walking, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Must have close visual acuity.

• May be subject to warehouse/manufacturing atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, and dust.
