Event Marketer

Horus Technology is an AI and cloud technology company helping organizations modernize business workflows through intelligent document processing, automation, AI, and cloud solutions on AWS. We are looking for an Event Marketer who wants hands‑on experience in event marketing, networking, lead generation, and technology. This role is for someone who enjoys taking ownership, meeting new people, and helping turn events into measurable business opportunities. You do not need to already be an expert in AWS, IDP, or AI. Our team will teach you our technology, use cases, and how to explain technical solutions in simple business language. What You'll Do As an Event Marketer you will help plan, promote, execute, and follow up on Horus Technology events throughout San Diego and potentially other markets. Your responsibilities may include: Plan & Coordinate Research venues and help organize networking events, Lunch & Learns, workshops, and AI Tinkerers meetups. Coordinate with venues, speakers, sponsors, partners, and event collaborators. Manage registrations, RSVPs, guest lists, reminders, and attendee information through Luma . Promote & Create Create event flyers, promotional graphics, signage, and social media content using Canva . Promote events through LinkedIn, email, community groups, and other channels. Come up with creative ways to turn each event into engaging LinkedIn and social content. Engage & Network Attend events and interact directly with founders, professionals, business leaders, and potential clients. Learn how to identify business pain points and connect them to Horus Technology's AI, IDP, cloud migration, and AWS solutions. Explain technical use cases in clear, simple business language. Follow Up & Generate Opportunities Follow up with attendees through email and LinkedIn after events. Help identify interested prospects and encourage them to schedule a demo or follow-up conversation. Track event-generated leads and opportunities for the team. Ownership & Initiative You will be expected to independently move projects forward while receiving support from the Horus Technology team. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, solves problems, asks questions, and brings new ideas rather than waiting for every task to be assigned. What You'll Learn How to plan and market professional technology events. How to network with potential clients and turn conversations into business opportunities. How to use LinkedIn, email, and in‑person outreach for B2B marketing. How AI, IDP, cloud migration, and AWS solve real business problems. How to explain complex technology in simple business language. Our team will support and teach you regardless of your current experience with AWS, IDP, or the latest AI tools. Minimum Qualifications Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field . Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills. Comfortable meeting and speaking with new people. Able to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple responsibilities. Preferred Qualifications Previous event planning, marketing, sales, student organization, or business development experience. Experience with Canva, LinkedIn, Luma, or email outreach . Interest in AI, technology, startups, cloud computing, or B2B marketing. Ability to understand technical concepts and explain them in simple terms. How to Stand Out During the Interview Come prepared to discuss one specific scenario from your previous experience where you helped organize, promote, or participate in an event and used that opportunity to generate a business result. For example, think about a situation where your work helped: Generate a potential customer or business lead. Encourage someone to schedule a meeting or demonstration. Create meaningful follow‑up conversations after an event. Increase interest in a company's product or service. Turn an event attendee into someone who wanted to continue the conversation with the organization. The experience does not have to come from a technology company. It could come from a previous role, internship, university organization, student club, small business, conference, networking event, nonprofit, or other professional experience. We are especially interested in candidates who understand that successful event marketing goes beyond organizing a great event. The goal is to build relationships, create opportunities, and turn those relationships into measurable business outcomes. Being able to take a complex topic such as AI, Intelligent Document Processing, cloud migration, or AWS and explain its business value in simple language will also help you stand out.
