Property Accountant

$75,000 – $80,000 / year
OVERVIEWA growing real estate management company is seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to support financial operations across a mixed portfolio of market-rate and commercial properties. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in property accounting who is looking to deepen their experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Manage monthly and year-end close processes for assigned properties
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and variance reports
- Handle bank reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and general ledger activity
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing and tenant billing
- Support audit preparation and respond to auditor requests
- Coordinate with property management teams to ensure financial accuracy and alignment
- Maintain compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting projects
This role plays a key part in maintaining the financial health and accuracy of the portfolio. Your attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities will directly support informed decision-making and overall operational success. WHAT IT TAKES
- 2–3 years of property accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with Yardi or similar property management/accounting software preferred
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Detail-oriented and analytical
- Reliable and highly organized
- Proactive and solution-focused
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
