The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and possesses excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum 1 year of experience in a high-volume healthcare facility or medical office requiredStrong customer service and computer skills requiredInsurance verification and medical billing knowledge requiredMedical terminology knowledge strongly preferredStrong typing skills (45+ WPM) requiredProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and navigating multiple computer systems requiredAbility to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environmentStrong verbal and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skillsValid driver's license and ability to travel to off-site locations if requiredBilingual Spanish or Mandarin preferredResponsibilities include performing patient pre-registration and registration for inpatient and outpatient services, verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, obtaining authorizations, collecting co-pays and co-insurance payments, maintaining accurate patient demographic and insurance information, interviewing and screening uninsured patients for financial assistance and Hospital Presumptive Eligibility (HPE) programs, assisting patients with Medicaid/Medi-Cal applications, documenting financial counseling activities, coordinating with physicians, insurance companies, and clinical staff, maintaining HIPAA compliance, resolving registration and billing issues, and delivering exceptional customer service throughout the patient registration process.
