Senior Buyer

THIS ROLE WILL BE ONSITE 5 DAYS PER WEEK IN MELVILLE, NY. Responsibilities Check and examine purchase requisitions assigned for proper descriptions of items, part numbers, specifications, etc., and place orders in accordance with established policies. Establish sources of supply that will ensure reasonable pricing, dependable shipment and reliable quality. Expedites, follows up and administers open purchase orders. Maintain appropriate files on all orders in process. Interview salespeople and vendors and refer descriptive literature to the department concerned. Maintain necessary liaison between all departments within the Company and vendors to ensure maximum efficiency. Develop new sources of supply both for new and routine materials. Coordinate and combine orders of different origins to take advantage of quantity prices. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience, or a Master’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior experience, or equivalent. 5+ years’ experience in purchasing electronic and electromechanical parts preferably in the RF Commercial Military industry. Excellent time‑management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; experience writing technical specifications and other technical documents. #J-18808-Ljbffr
