Marketing & Business Development Specialist - Transportation & Logistics and Automotive & Mobility

We are seeking an experienced, proactive Marketing & Business Development Specialist to lead our global Transportation and Logistics (T&L) sector and support the global Automotive and Mobility (A&M) sector. The role requires close collaboration with global and local M&BD teams, sector heads, leadership, and key lawyers to develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and business development strategy that drives client engagement, strengthens market positioning, and supports long‑term sector growth. Responsibilities Leadership Act as the M&BD lead expert for the global T&L team. Collaborate with sector leadership, M&BD team, and others to design and execute a global strategy aligned with firm objectives. Lead and support the development of yearly business plans for the T&L and A&M sectors, ensuring implementation that underpins the global strategy. Marketing Campaigns, Profile Raising, and Thought Leadership Plan, create, and manage marketing communications, including seminars, client events, CLE trainings, client‑facing materials, external conferences, and web/social media content. Lead directory and award submissions for relevant rankings and publications. Support coordination of sector‑specific thought‑leadership publications. Collaborate with the PR team to implement profile‑raising strategies for the sector and individual partners. Events and Sponsorships Conceptualize and support client seminars, webinars, and other marketing events; manage materials, vendor selection, client communications, and day‑of logistics and follow‑up reporting. Evaluate, coordinate, and execute sponsorships; negotiate agreements and manage participation to maximize return on investment. Foster relationships with industry associations to drive client engagement. Plan internal meetings, retreats, and education sessions targeted at sector knowledge. Pitching, Targeting, and New Business Generation Lead pitch strategy for the T&L sector, aligning with the sales transformation plan and global pitch coordination. Develop, manage, and support responses to RFPs, pitches, and proposals tailored to client needs. Create and maintain a suite of standard targeting materials, including credentials documents. Internal Communications and Knowledge Sharing Support sector working groups as M&BD lead and share best practices and processes across the global sector team. Maintain key M&BD resources on the global intranet and other internal platforms. Promote capabilities through global retreats, internal newsletters, conference calls, and intranet activities. Wider M&BD Projects Manage and contribute to broader M&BD projects and assignments as appropriate. All firm members are encouraged to participate in the global Responsible Business program. Qualifications and Skills Ability to independently execute marketing campaigns and projects. Client‑service‑oriented mindset with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Critical thinking, proactive attitude, and high level of initiative. Pragmatic, diplomatic, and resourceful with the ability to adapt quickly. Demonstrated project‑management skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams and time zones. Time‑management skills to meet deadlines and work well under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Willingness to leverage the firm’s AI tools. Education and Experience Five (5)+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a legal or professional services setting. Established knowledge of the transportation & logistics and/or automotive & mobility sectors highly desirable. Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent education/experience. Hours Core hours Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including lunch; flexibility for outside normal hours as needed. Compensation and Benefits Base salary range (Washington, D.C.) $83,180 – $117,420 per year, depending on qualifications. Potential additional compensation such as annual discretionary bonuses.
