Title: PH Nurse Sr (Family Planning Quality Assurance Nurse Supervisor) State Role Title: RN II/Nurse Prct I/Phy Asst Hiring Range: $77,542.00 - $84,871.50 Pay Band: 5 Agency: Virginia Department of Health Location: VDH-Central Office Agency Website: Recruitment Type: General Public - G Responsibilities Review program funding and funding expiration timelines to ensure continuation of services. Support nurses and clinical teams providing family planning services across the Commonwealth. Provide expertise in nursing, quality improvement, and reproductive health care. Review relevant policy, practice, and guidance documents and ensure staff understand and comply with content. Conduct clinical site reviews of family planning clinics to document compliance and develop corrective action plans. Directly supervise the Family Planning Training and Development Coordinator and collaborate to develop, implement, and evaluate training activities. Work with the Division of Population Health Data to monitor program data and performance. Collaborate with reproductive health programs and partners within the Office of Family Health Services, other VDH offices, Local Health Districts, community-based partners, and stakeholders. Minimum Qualifications Licensure as an RN in Virginia or compact state; if a new graduate, must obtain RN license within 90 days of hire. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR and able to fit-test and perform fit testing for other staff per OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard. Experience functioning in a leadership role and ability to work independently in various settings and prioritize workload. Knowledge of current standards of family planning/reproductive health clinical care, including contraceptive methods. Experience entering, reviewing, and analyzing data and statistics, and producing reports or recommendations. Experience and knowledge of nursing processes, health maintenance, disease processes, physical and behavioral sciences, case management processes, and basic principles of epidemiology. Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge of computer applications, including internet, Microsoft Office Suite, and Outlook. Experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound nursing judgment, make decisions, teach, interview, counsel, analyze problems, and solve problems. Additional Considerations Public health experience. If working with the EPI response team, Certified in Infection Control (CIC) preferred and experience in hospital or long-term care facility infection control.
