Position Summary

The Direct Care Worker (DCW) provides community-based psychiatric rehabilitation services to children, adolescents, and adults enrolled in CTM’s Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP).

This role focuses on helping individuals develop essential life skills, improve daily functioning, and strengthen support systems to achieve successful community integration. Services are delivered in a variety of settings, including the home, community, school, or office.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct support services aligned with the Individual Rehabilitation Plan (IRP) developed by a licensed mental health professional
• Assist clients with developing and improving:
  • Daily living skills (ADLs)
  • Social and interpersonal skills
  • Community integration and resource utilization
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers, therapists, and treatment team members to address mental health and behavioral needs
• Support clients in achieving individualized rehabilitation goals and objectives
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all services in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
• Participate in required supervision sessions and monthly in-service trainings
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to all COMAR and agency regulations

 

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
• Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Social Work
  • Psychology
  • Counseling
  • Mental Health
  • Or related human services field (preferred)
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with children, adolescents, or adults in a mental health or human services setting
• Experience using computer systems and electronic documentation (EHR preferred)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Valid Driver’s License
• Reliable transportation
• Proof of current vehicle registration, inspection, and insurance
• Ability to pass a criminal background check

Work Environment & Schedule

• Community-based (home, school, office, and community settings)
• Flexible scheduling, including afternoon, evening, and occasional weekend availability based on client needs
