Operating Room Supervisor

Supervises and coordinates daily ancillary staff activities to create a sanitary, safe environment and enhance the appearance of the Operating Room. 6am to 4:30pm - 4 days per week - no weekends. 3 years Anesthesia Tech experience is preferred.

Ensures adherence to procedure, including but not limited to following standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staff assignments who are responsible for cleaning Operating Room (OR), surgical suites and other assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, changing linens and sanitizing all surfaces to plan and accomplish department goals. Assesses quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures and protocols. Transfers patients from Nursing Units to OR and from PACU to the Nursing Units/Discharge. Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels. Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints. Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching and mentoring to staff. Assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Supervises the procurement, maintenance and moving of equipment and supplies in surgical suites.

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: Three (3) plus years of experience in Surgical Services. Other Information: Associates degree preferred.
