Underwriter

Job Overview Providing underwriting support, counsel, and authorization to company personnel, agents, and customers for real estate title insurance commitments and policies. Utilizes underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits, and guides performance of real estate settlement services. Responsibilities Provide underwriting support and authorization for issuance of title insurance commitments and policies. Utilize underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority limits to underwrite title insurance. Guide company personnel in real estate settlement services. Issue underwriting standards and guidelines in accordance with established company processes. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred. 5-7 years of title underwriting experience. Familiarity with real estate law. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of real estate title and settlement process. General knowledge of federal and state regulations related to title insurance and settlement services. Experience underwriting real estate transactions for title insurance policies. Ability to collaborate and act decisively. Detail oriented. Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills. Good organizational skills, able to multi‑task, prioritize, and follow up in a timely manner. Strong negotiation skills. Abstract thinking and creative solutions. Compensation Pay Range: $97,700.00 – $130,300.00 annually. Pay is based on a number of factors including job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
