Ultrasound Technologist Outpatient

Location & Compensation Location: White Plains, New York. Work Shift: Day, Weekends. Hours: 8 AM - 4 PM. Pay Rate: $48.90 - $73.36 per hour. Sign-on Bonus: $5,000. Essential Functions Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. Prepares and positions patients correctly for specific examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol including proper documentation on images and required body part questionnaires. Assumes responsibilities for designated areas and/or procedures and produces good technical images. Assists physicians during practice‑based procedures as necessary. Performs equipment quality assurance and calibrations as needed, orders supplies. Will be required to work in case of emergency procedures or when situations arise in the department. Will be required to work “on‑call” at Armonk Urgi‑Center and may be required to work at other outpatient sites on holidays, overtime and/or day, evening and overnight shift coverage to help maintain adequate and safe coverage. Maintains the cleanliness of all work areas, equipment and accessories. Reports all malfunctioning equipment to BioMed and/or supervisor. Processes CD’s, or prints pictures if needed. Performs routine office tasks, such as answering phones, checking‑in patients, obtaining previous reports/films, or other related duties as needed. Shows radiologist all images and calls reports to the attending physician and documents communication if necessary. May be assigned as an instructor or preceptor. Will treat all people/staff in a professional and courteous manner, upholding the WPH’s behavioral standards. Will introduce him/her and educate the patient and/or family member regarding the examination that is ordered. Should be knowledgeable and skillful in providing care, based on age, physical and psychosocial stature of patient populations; neonate/newborn, pediatric/adolescent, adults and geriatric groups. Performs all other related duties as assigned. Duties and hours may change according to the needs of the off‑site practices. Coverage rotation to other outpatient off‑sites. Qualifications High School Required and Certificate Completion of a certified ultrasound program Required. 1-3 years Preferred. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (High proficiency). The person in this position frequently communicates with patients who have questions about their bills/financial obligations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. (High proficiency). Must be able to observe and inspect employees and patients in the department. (High proficiency). Frequently moves and positions patients for exams (High proficiency). Must be able to speak, write, understand and communicate in English. Retains composure under stress. Teamwork & Adaptability: Acts as a Professional Role Model. BLS – American Heart Association within 90 days of hire, required. ARDMS – American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography required.
