Job Requirements

POSITION SUMMARY

The Facility Technician IV leverages high competency and skill to perform maintenance, repair, and installation of systems across facilities in the Health First Integrated Delivery Network (IDN). The Facility Technician IV utilizes advanced technical expertise in their field for maintenance operations to ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable environment in all on and off site facilities within the IDN.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Conducts preventative maintenance on facility machinery such as inspections, adjustments, and repairs verifying continuous and optimal operations, while adhering to Health First and regulatory body compliance standards.
2. Diagnoses and perform repairs related to issues on systems within their field of expertise, while mitigating risk by maintaining system integrity for efficient operations.
3. Performs Installations, modifications and calibrations of equipment and systems in compliance with applicable state and local codes and regulations.
4. Delivers excellent service to Associates, patients, and visitors, ensuring professionalism and courtesy in each interaction.
5. Ensures effective and proper documentation of all work performed within the computerized management system (TMA/FMP) by twenty-four (24) hours of completing work, adhering to documentation protocols to ensure accurate and detailed reporting.
6. Receives and promptly responds to emergency maintenance calls such as STATs, mitigating disruption of optimal services, while ensuring the safe environmental conditions for Associates, patients and visitors.
7. Applies all applicable regulatory safety practices, such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), during all maintenance and operations, while operating, storing and maintaining specialized maintenance and tools, equipment, and repair components, ensuring cleaning and lubrication is conducted in a proper manner.
8. Partners with facilities leadership to review, coordinate and implement projects, while researching, requisitioning, and tracking inventory for applicable tools and replacement components and materials to support proper and timely maintenance activities.
9. Provides coaching and guidance to junior Facility Technicians by driving development in expertise and skills, while ensuring adherence to facilities compliance standards.

Work Experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Work Experience: Five (5) years' documented journeyman-level operation, maintenance, and repair experience in the trade work setting.
• Licensure: Journeyman Certificate licensure, or equivalent Universal credential prior to start date and maintained.
• Certification: None
• Work Experience In Lieu of Education: Additional three (3) years' documented journeyman-level operation, maintenance, and repair experience in the trade work setting.
• Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
• Ability to provide and maintain required hand tools (job-specific power tools provided).
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration, electrical or plumbing systems, components, and applicable codes.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical or plumbing issues.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to changing duties, and respond effectively to emergencies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Graduate of applicable Trade School.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Physically agile; may require walking, standing, running, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, or crouching frequently.
• May occasionally include lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
• May require moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces, including reaching out and above shoulders, or overhead.
• May lift, turn, pull, push, or ambulate people and/or equipment with or without assistance up to 90% of the assigned shift.
• May be exposed to inside and outside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting, and/or low to loud noise.
• May require working with biohazards such as blood/body fluids and airborne particles following OSHA and CDC guidelines.
• Communicating with others to exchange information.
• Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.
• Workspace may vary from open to confined.
• May require travel to various facilities within and beyond county perimeter; may require use of personal vehicle.
