POSITION SUMMARY POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports the Director of Academic Professional Development with selection, design, facilitation, and implementation of professional development programming and instructional technologies that support the advancement of the institutional mission and college’s priorities. The person in the role designs and facilitates workshops, provides coaching, and manages webinars and courses geared towards specific professional development needs, with a deep commitment to improving student success outcomes, fostering retention, and supporting timely program completion. The person in the role models our institutional values and establishes effective and strong relationships with faculty, staff, students, the Colorado Community College System, and external partners. OVERVIEW OF CCA The Community College of Aurora serves our diverse community by providing high-quality instruction and support services to prepare students for transfer and employment. In addition to traditional degree and certificate programs, CCA offers non-credit professional development courses, customized training, and economic and workforce development resources to employer partners and individual professionals seeking to enhance the capacity and productivity of their workforce or individual knowledge and skills. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Collaborate with the Director of Academic Professional Development to design, implement, and evaluate professional development opportunities for faculty and staff that advance the college’s and Academic Success division’s mission and strategic goals. Assist the Director with the onboarding, training, and work of professional development collaborators and partners, as needed. Support the design, implementation, and data-informed assessment of professional development initiatives that are geared towards improving student success outcomes, fostering retention, and supporting timely program completion. Ensure that professional development programming is informed by current trends in educational technology, evidence-based pedagogy, and student-centered teaching practices. Facilitate recurrent courses, webinars, and activities, such as New Faculty and Instructor Orientation and courses that support CTE credentialing and offer coaching sessions to support those courses. Assist the Director with leading additional professional development trainings and coaching sessions that address career skills integration, student learning assessment, and teaching methods adapted to GenAI. Assist with the response to departmental and individual requests for support with outcomes data analysis and pedagogical strategies that improve student success outcomes, retention, and timely completion. Contribute to or facilitate presentations, consultations, and coaching sessions as needed. Serve on committees as assigned by the Provost, Dean of Academic Effectiveness and Instructional Support, and the Director. Engage in ongoing professional development as required by the responsibilities of the role. Perform other related duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree from an accredited institution. Three (3) or more years of full-time teaching experience. Proven success in leading professional development for adult learners. Experience with educational technologies in higher education. Experience with assessment design. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments. Ability to respond to priority changes with ease. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Educational credentials related to instructional design. Three (3) or more years of full-time teaching experience in higher education, preferably a community college. Proven success in designing and leading professional development in an academic setting. Expertise in higher education professional development trends, including evidence-based teaching strategies and assessment of instructional impact. Demonstrated commitment to supporting students, faculty, and community members based on their individual needs to foster successful outcomes. Experience with data collection, analysis, improvement strategies design, and reporting. SALARY RANGE Anticipated salary range is $57,129.08- $65,698.44 annually. This salary is determined by the qualifications of the selected candidate balanced with departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
