Pride Health is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist to support our client’s medical facility in Clifton NJ 07012. It's a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist

Location: Clifton NJ 07012

Duration: 6 Months

Pay rate: $30/hour to $40/hour

Schedule: Sunday- Thursday, 3pm-11:30pm

*The salary is determined by an individual's level of experience, as well as any relevant licenses and certifications they may hold.

Key Responsibilities:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Perform specimen handling, processing, testing, and result reporting according to laboratory procedures.

* Maintain accurate records, quality control logs, and equipment maintenance documentation.

* Follow CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety guidelines.

* Review and release test results while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

* Identify and report testing issues or abnormal system performance to supervisors.

* Report STAT and critical results following department procedures.

* Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper labeling of reagents and test kits.

* Participate in safety training, department meetings, and ongoing education.

* Support inspections and perform additional duties as assigned.

* Demonstrate strong knowledge of laboratory testing, QC/QA, and computer systems.

Education:

BS in Medical Technology preferred; or BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or Associates degree in a Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493. 1433 published in March 14, 1990. Foreign educated candidates must provide a detailed credential evaluation from IERF (International Education Research Foundation). United States educated candidates must provide a detailed original transcript. A successful candidate should possess or be eligible for national certification as an MT / MLT from a recognized organization (ASCP or AMT).

Work Experience:

1 year Clinical experience (high complexity testing) preferred. Minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory experience in highly complex testing for those with BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology. National and State licensure as required.

Special Requirements:

1. Must have the ability to establish work priorities and handle several procedures simultaneously.

2. Must interact with other departments.

3. Contact with clients may be required, good customer service skills are important.

4. Must protect patient confidentiality at all times.
