We provide consideration for employment to all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or protected veteran status.The Director of Athletics is responsible for the leadership and supervision of the Department of Athletics and all related operations.Essential Job FunctionsDevelop, oversee, and administer all intercollegiate sport programs, as well as all administrative functions (Athletic Health Care, Strength & Conditioning, Academic Support, Sports Information, and Compliance/Operations).Cast vision, create strategy, and execute on responsibilities at a high level of performance.Oversee all departmental employees and ensure the appropriate personal and professional growth and development.Coordinate the development of long-term strategies for athletic department growth and facility planning.Prepare and administer annual budget for the athletic department and oversee the budget accountability for all sport programs.Prepare internal and external annual assessment plans of the department.Identify and lead fundraising activities for athletics and the university.Increase/sustain competitiveness of Life University athletic programs.Attend all conference and national meetings when necessary.Display strong leadership skills while working in a high pace, competitive environment.Serve on President Advisory Group and represent the institution in the public and media on appropriate athletic-related matters.Serve on institutional committees when needed.Performs additional responsibilities/duties as required and performs special projects as needed or requested.Additional Duties And ResponsibilitiesExhibit Life University standards of lasting purposeAttitude of helpfulness and gratitudeManage to the best solutionPersonally commit to building relationshipsUser friendly alwaysExhibit student centeredness in performance of all job dutiesContinuous, self-led leadership development is required as this is a leadership position.Required QualificationsEducation, Training and/or ExperienceBachelor’s degreeMinimum of five years of experience in intercollegiate athletics or related area.Demonstrated ability to solve athletic related issues under pressureKnowledge of NAIA legislationPreferred QualificationsMaster’s degreeEight years of experience in intercollegiate athleticsPhysical DemandsAbility to lift/carry/relocate equipment and supplies to various locations for athletic eventsAbility to drive to various locationsAbility to demonstrate work outside in all weather conditionsWorking ConditionsWork performed in various locations in and around the Life University campus, including athletic fields and gymnasiumsTravel requiredWeekend & evening work is required.
