Responsibilities
- Assess and treat patients requiring physical therapy with a focus on mobility, functional independence, and safety in a hospital-adjacent care setting
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings; document progress and adjust plans as needed
- Perform therapeutic interventions (therapeutic exercises, gait training, therapeutic modalities) to improve strength, balance, endurance, and ADLs
- Reassess patient status, determine discharge planning needs, and collaborate with the care team to optimize outcomes
- Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, adaptive equipment use, and safety strategies; ensure clear, accurate documentation
- Ensure compliance with care standards, infection control, and safety policies; participate in care coordination and multidisciplinary rounds

Requirements
- Active Physical Therapy license (California)
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree required if licensure obtained on or after January 2016, or foreign equivalent
- AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS certification required
- ICU experience preferred but not required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the submitted unit specialty within the last 3 months
- Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment and to perform 8-hour day shifts
- Scheduling notes: RTO requests are restricted for M-F shifts during September; any time-off requests should follow policy and scheduling guidelines
