Job Title: LPN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med-Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 (07:00-19:30) Experience: 2+ years License: Current LPN License (eligible for licensure in state) Certifications: BLS from AHA only, IV Certification preferred Must-Have: 1 year Stepdown experience in an acute care hospital Description: Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with professional standards. Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice. The role involves standing and walking most of the time on duty. Must meet unit-specific physical demands. Significant bending and stooping, as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance, are required. May be required to work differing schedules, shifts, and days according to patient care requirements. Exposure to blood and body fluids is possible. Physical demands include pushing, pulling, lifting, gripping up to 50 lbs., and kneeling, crouching, and crawling minimally. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with professional values and mission.
