Billing Specilaist Mon Vale HealthPlex - 18085

Summary AS A BILLING SPECIALIST I, you’ll be responsible for billing and collecting patient accounts receivable balances from insurance companies in a prompt and efficient manner. This position requires an expert in determining the optimal combination of re‑billing, collecting, and required payment follow‑up activities. It also involves providing education to medical practice office staff for accurate claims submission, interpreting all contracts to determine correct and timely payment, and ensuring the workflow of the billing department runs smoothly. Responsibilities Bill and collect patient accounts receivable balances from insurance companies. Determine optimal combination of re‑billing, collecting, and required payment follow‑up activities. Provide education to medical practice office staff to ensure accurate claims submission. Interpret all contracts and determine correct and timely payment. Ensure the workflow of the billing department runs smoothly. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required). Computer skills in Microsoft with emphasis in Excel. Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Coding certification, or two years related health‑care billing experience (preferred). Knowledge of third‑party payer and coding guidelines; ability to understand insurance terms, medical terminology, medical records, coding, and hospital bills.
