Paramedic (EMT‑P) Emergency Department Fast‑paced, high‑volume Emergency Department is looking for top‑skilled Paramedic. Work location: Texas Health Denton, 3000 N. I‑35, Denton, TX 76201. Work hours: Full Time, Evening Shift (3 p.m. to 3 a.m.), 3 shifts, 36 hours per week. Weekend and holiday requirements. Complete benefits available. Paramedics work closely with physicians, RNs, respiratory therapy, and ancillary teams as valued members of the interdisciplinary ED care team. Hospital‑based paramedics function within a defined ED‑specific scope of practice, performing advanced clinical skills under direct physician supervision in accordance with Texas Health Resources protocols. Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team. Fast‑paced, high‑volume department averaging 100‑200 patients per day. The professional paramedic exhibits an understanding of basic human needs and demonstrates recognition and understanding of patients’ affiliations. What You Will Do Administers IV fluid without additives, saline flush, IV antibiotics, and all IV medications excluding controlled drugs and RSI medications. Uses ACLS drugs (including drips) via barcode medication verification (BMV) during medication administrations. Administers all IM and oral medications excluding controlled drugs. Plans the care of the patient. Completes accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Provides consistent attention to airway, intake, elimination, sleep, rest, mobility, and hygiene needs. Applies anti‑embolic stockings and sequential compression devices. Handles cervical collar management. Conducts external defibrillation. Applies nasal cannula or oxygen mask. Inserts and removes oral airway. Performs ultrasound‑guided peripheral IV access. Draws blood from ports. Performs other duties as assigned by the care team. At least 3 months of paramedic experience or completion of a paramedic internship required. One year of paramedic experience in EMS or Fire Department preferred. EMT‑P (Emergency Medical Technician‑Paramedic) required or LP (Licensed Paramedic). ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) within 90 days of hire required. BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required. PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 90 days of hire required.
