Job Description\n Malone Healthcare - Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Wausau, Wisconsin.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Med Surg\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/28/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n \n \n Internal Job Description\n \n RN-Wausau WI\n ** Clinical Interview Services**\n Contract Length: 8 weeks\n Start Date: ASAP\n Guaranteed Hours Per Week: 36 hours\n Primary Location: Aspirus Wausau Hospital\n Shift Requirements: 12 hour Day/Night variables. 7a-7p/7p-7a.\n Weekend/Holiday: every other weekend, and holiday\n Float Requirements: : To all inpatient units;\n On Call/Call Back Requirements: Contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours - can be low censused in hour increments as needed. Unit will typically low census in 4 hr increments and could ask for a traveler to work only 4 or 8 hrs of the shift. This is not considered to be on call.\n Required Certifications to be Attached upon Submittal: WI RN License and BLS- AHA or ARC\n Minimum Experience: 2+ years Med Surg experience. Must have recent hospital experience. Trauma level II experience required. Prior travel experience REQUIRED.\n Charting Experience: Epic REQUIRED.\n Equipment used: Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, Alaris pumps\n Unit Specific Skillset: Post Surgical Care Unit post recovery after Pacu. 40 bed inpatient area that provides care along a continuum for pre and post-surgical adults and geriatric patients.\n Unit Overview (Patient ratio, etc.): Nurse to pt ratio: day/pm 1:4 or 5, nights 1:5- 7 Fast paced post-surgical unit that averages 10-15 admissions per day with the highest occurring on Day/PM. Occupancy of unit is90-95 % during the week with average length of stay 2 3 days (except joints). RN must have ability to multi task and prioritize patient care needs based on acuity and work as a team.\n Scrub color: any color\n GSA hours are not guaranteed the week of Orientation. Traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays where unit is closed.\n During flu season, any traveler who declines flu and COVID vaccination is required to wear a mask at all times. This is an Aspirus policy, and compliance is mandatory (No exceptions).
