Job Opportunity

Position: Sterile Processing Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team for a day shift position. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary certifications and experience for this vital role in our healthcare facility.

Shift Details

Schedule: Day Shift - 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (07:00 AM - 03:30 PM)
Start Date: Late September

Qualifications

Required Certifications: CBSPD or IAHCSMM
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an acute hospital setting.
Local Candidates: Candidates must be located outside of a 50-mile radius from the facility.

Skills Needed

Experience in Acute Hospital Operating Room (OR)
Knowledge of biological and chemical indicators
Proficient in cleaning and sterilizing medical equipment, including crash carts, IV pumps, and PCA pumps
Skilled in equipment documentation and High-Level Disinfection (HLD)
Familiarity with Immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS) and steam sterilization testing/monitoring
Expertise in proper selection of wrapping materials and sets/trays assembly
Knowledge of Sterile Processing Microsystem (SPM) and sterilization wrapping procedures
Ability to use washers and sterilizers effectively

Additional Information

Weekend Coverage: Required coverage for weekends as scheduled
Pre-Approved Time Off: One time request allowed
Orientation: 40 hours of orientation provided

Responsibilities

The Sterile Processing Technician will be responsible for ensuring all surgical instruments and equipment are sterilized and prepared for use in an operating room environment. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential.
