Job Title

Surgical Technologist – Surgical Services

Location

Rochester, NY | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Evening Shift (4x10 Hours, 1:00 PM – 11:30 PM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist across a broad range of surgical service lines including general, vascular, ENT, gynecological, neurological, orthopedic, urological, thoracic, colorectal, and plastic surgery cases
• Support laparoscopic, robotic (Da Vinci Xi), and open surgical procedures with proficiency in aseptic technique and instrument handling
• Perform proper specimen handling, labeling, and sharps safety protocols in accordance with facility policy
• Adhere to Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures and decontamination and sterilization standards
• Fulfill on-call obligations, including 6 call shifts per 8-week block, inclusive of weekends and holidays
• Float across service lines as needed and complete required pre-start modules prior to assignment start

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required (exception may apply for candidates who worked as a surgical tech in New York prior to 2015)
• Active New York State license required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Epic EMR experience is required
• Minimum of 3 years of surgical technologist experience; experience across multiple service lines strongly preferred
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with robotic-assisted surgery, including the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
• Background in management or lead surgical technologist roles
• Familiarity with a high volume, multi-service-line surgical environment (12 service lines)
• Experience with complex vascular, neurosurgical, or thoracic procedures
