Microbiology Lab Tech

Pay Rate Low: 21 | Pay Rate High: 26

Our client is seeking a Microbiology Laboratory Technician to support microbiological testing and quality activities in a regulated manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences who has a strong laboratory foundation. Experience with validation activities and water systems is highly preferred.

SHORT TERM CONTRACT

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing, including bioburden and enrichment testing of raw materials.
• Conduct environmental monitoring, including air, surface, and water sampling.
• Assist with method suitability, preservative efficacy testing (PET), and validation activities.
• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor laboratory equipment, perform routine checks, and support equipment maintenance.
• Assist with investigations related to Out of Specification (OOS) and Out of Trend (OOT) results.
• Prepare microbiological media and maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment.
• Support new product introductions, method transfers, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in laboratory audits, sanitation inspections, and risk assessments.
• Help maintain laboratory inventory and support training of new laboratory personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or a related field.
• Basic understanding of microbiology laboratory practices.
• Experience with laboratory validation activities preferred.
• Experience working with water systems is highly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and the ability to work in a regulated environment.
