Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students for a maternity leave position from August through December. This full-time role allows you to use your Speech-Language Pathology expertise within an engaging school-based setting, making a meaningful impact on young learners’ communication skills.
Your specialized background will be essential in helping students thrive academically and socially during this important developmental stage.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid SLP license/certification (or eligibility) for the state of Maryland
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Prior experience working with elementary-aged children in a school setting is highly valued
- Strong collaboration skills for partnering with teachers, staff, and families
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities
- Compassion and adaptability in dynamic school environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and identify speech, language, and communication needs among elementary caseload
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to individual student goals
- Provide direct therapy sessions and group interventions
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other educational professionals
- Document progress, maintain thorough records, and participate in IEP meetings
- Offer guidance to family members and educators on supporting student development
