Experienced Quality Inspector – CNC Machining

Starting Salary: $45,000 - $75,000 based on experience

United Standard Industries, Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join our CNC machining and contract manufacturing operation in Glenview, IL. We produce precision-machined parts and assemblies for aerospace, defense, medical, and industrial customers.

This is a hands-on inspection role for someone who is confident reading engineering drawings, working with precision measuring equipment, and ensuring CNC-machined parts meet exact specifications.

What You'll Do

• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of CNC-machined parts and assemblies

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and GD&T

• Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, and other precision measuring instruments

• Operate a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and accurately record inspection results

• Verify parts meet customer specifications and quality requirements

• Maintain accurate inspection and quality documentation

• Identify and document nonconforming products

• Work with production and quality team members to resolve quality issues

• Review material certifications and outside-process documentation as required

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of quality inspection experience in CNC machining, precision manufacturing, or contract manufacturing

• Ability to independently inspect machined parts using engineering drawings

• Experience with dimensional inspection and close-tolerance components

• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments

• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills

Preferred Experience

• CMM inspection and PC-DMIS experience

• Knowledge of AS9100D or ISO 9001:2015 quality systems

• Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience

• First article inspection and corrective action experience
