Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic, 3rd Shift

Manufacturing Maintenance Mechanic, 3rd Shift Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain all packaging and support equipment to optimize efficiency and quality. Conduct line changeovers and perform necessary set‑up and adjustments as required by the production schedule. Perform line alterations and rebuildings as necessary. Repair mechanical equipment including pumps, gear reducers, seals, bearings, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and conveyors. Analyze and solve routine and complex electrical problems of processing, packaging, and auxiliary equipment. Assist manufacturing personnel on process‑related problems. Perform established Preventative Maintenance, identifying and correcting mechanical/electrical maintenance issues found during the PM process. Setup and operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, and press brakes. Layout, fabricate, and install sheet metal ductwork, guards, and brackets. Employ advanced skills in oxy‑acetylene, MIG, TIG, and stainless steel welding applications. Assist engineering on equipment installations. Repair and fabricate parts as required. Oil, lubricate, and inspect equipment and production lines. Operate forklift trucks to move equipment or materials. Assist and train team members in simple adjustments and maintenance. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent; an associate degree in mechanical technology, electrical technology, or engineering science is a plus. Must be able to work a 12‑hour shift from 6:00pm to 6:00am. Completion of a mechanical or electrical apprenticeship, or military technical training, strongly preferred. Advanced technical knowledge of machine‑shop operations, welding, and mechanical/electrical maintenance principles (shafts, bearings, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, AC/DC motors, starters, contactors, three‑phase power, PLCs) required. Ability to read blueprints and possess advanced mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills and production maintenance work experience. Initiative, motivation, and communication skills required.
