Duration: Contract - 3 months
Pay Range: $18 to 22/hr (W2)

Job Description

We are seeking a  Production Associate to join our dynamic team at the LOL facility in Hicksville. The ideal candidate will have experience in  high-volume food production environments and a proven ability to  meet production demands while upholding quality, safety, and compliance standards .

Schedule and Work Environment:

• Shift: Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM to 1:00 AM. Schedules could include weekends based on business needs.
• Cold environment exposure, including chiller rooms at approximately 38&degree;F, and noisy production areas.
• Steel-toe shoes required. Composite safety shoe covers may be provided if needed.

Pre-Submission Candidate Questions (to be listed at top of resume):

1. Will the candidate be able to stand for up to 10 hours per day.
2. Is the candidate comfortable working in a cold environment and going in and out of a 38&degree;F chiller room during the shift. Jacket may be self-provided or provided by client.
3. Is the candidate comfortable wearing hearing protection in a noisy production environment.
4. Is the candidate comfortable wearing PPE including white lab jacket, protective glasses, helmet, and shoe covers.
5. Is the candidate comfortable heavy lifting up to 50 pounds with a partner when boxes are moved.
6. Is the candidate comfortable transferring two- and four-pound carts of production in and out of 38&degree;F chillers and flipping trays when needed.
7. Is the candidate able to perform other duties as assigned, including transferring to the Kitchen area when needed.
8. Optional: Is the candidate bilingual in Spanish.
9. Does the candidate have prior food industry knowledge.

Responsibilities:

• Attend area of transfer from filler to chiller and ensure timely movement of product.
• Inform supervisors or leads of any discrepancies in product information.
• Transfer carts of product in and out of chillers and place them in the WIP area in an orderly manner.
• Orient product alignment on the Garvey table area.
• Flip trays in chillers when needed and rework product below specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, following 5S practices.
• Promote a safe work environment and follow HACCP principles and Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Comply with Food and Personal Safety Procedures, company policies, and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including support in the Kitchen area as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 18 years or older.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions. Basic math skills.
• Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, and climbing.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs with proper technique and team assistance when required.
• Comfort working in noisy environments and across temperature zones, including cold and hot areas, and around dust as applicable.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including hearing protection, lab jacket, protective glasses, helmet, and shoe covers.

Preferred Skills:

• High School diploma or GED-equivalent.
• Bilingual in Spanish.
• Prior food industry knowledge.

Additional Details:

• Building name for reporting: LOL.
• Hours per day: 8. Labor type: Industrial.
• No operation of forklifts, tractors, vehicles, machines, manlifts, or work above 8 feet.
• No respirator use and no confined space work.
• Exposure to cold and noise as defined above.
