Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Detroit, Michigan

This contract opportunity focuses on elementary school students in grades K-5, supporting a caseload of approximately 45-55 children. Work within a collaborative educational setting, alongside teachers and staff dedicated to creating positive and effective learning experiences.


Preferred Skills and Background:

• Valid state licensure and credentials as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
• Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
• Experience working in a school setting, primarily with pediatric or elementary populations
• Knowledge of assessment tools, IEP development, and progress monitoring specific to school-age children
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong organizational skills to manage caseload documentation and scheduling

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and deliver therapy services to elementary students in grades K-5
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
• Collaborate with educators and families to support students' classroom and social success
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, session notes, and compliance with school requirements
• Participate in meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as needed
• Typical hours are 8:50 a.m. to 4:10 p.m., following the school's schedule
