Emish Market is a Ukrainian grocery store located in Fife, WA, offering a wide selection of imported goods from Ukraine and other European countries. In addition to our market, we operate a full-service café, bakery, and meat department, preparing fresh Ukrainian dishes, pastries, breads, and specialty products daily. Our mission is to create a warm, authentic, and memorable experience for every guest.We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Baker to join our bakery team. This role focuses on preparing high-quality baked goods for our customers and is ideal for someone who enjoys working with dough, follows recipes accurately, and takes pride in producing consistent, fresh products.What You'll DoPrepare, mix, shape, proof, and bake breads, pastries, and other baked goods according to recipes and quality standardsMeasure and prepare ingredients accurately to ensure product consistencyOperate bakery equipment safely and efficientlyMonitor baking times, temperatures, and product quality throughout productionDecorate and finish bakery items as neededMaintain cleanliness and organization of bakery workstations and equipmentFollow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all timesAssist with inventory rotation, ingredient storage, and restocking suppliesWork closely with bakery and kitchen team members to ensure daily production goals are metWork Schedule: 12:00 PM-8:30 PM Sunday - ThursdayPay & Compensation: $20-$24 per hour depending on experienceBenefits:We offer competitive employee benefits including paid sick leave (1 hour per 40 hours worked), partial employer-covered medical insurance (75% for full-time employees), and paid vacation: 1 week after 1 year of employment and 2 weeks after 2 years.Required QualificationsMinimum 2 years of experience as a baker, pastry baker, or in a commercial bakery environmentAbility to follow recipes and production schedules accuratelyStrong attention to detail and commitment to product qualityAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of food safety and sanitation standardsAbility to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbsReliability, punctuality, and strong work ethicPreferred QualificationsExperience with artisan breads, pastries, or Eastern European baked goodsExperience working in a grocery store bakery or high-volume production environmentWashington State Food Worker Card or ability to obtain one before employment
