CNC Machinist

Machinist – 2nd Shift

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Machinist to join our team on 2nd shift. In this role, you will operate CNC machining centers, perform machine setups and changeovers, and ensure parts meet quality specifications. This position is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to precision and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machining centers safely and efficiently
• Perform machine setups, changeovers, and minor troubleshooting
• Monitor production and inspect parts to ensure quality standards are met
• Read and interpret blueprints, including basic dimensions and tolerances
• Maintain proper cycle times and production output
• Deburr and blend machined parts as needed
• Perform daily machine maintenance (fluid checks, chip removal, cleaning)
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Complete and maintain production documentation accurately
• Demonstrate consistent attendance and punctuality

Work Environment & Schedule

• Shift: Monday – Thursday, 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM
• Overtime: Mandatory overtime currently in effect (through June) to meet production demands; additional voluntary overtime available
• Non-climate-controlled environment (can be hot in summer and involve exposure to metal cutting processes)
• PPE required (steel-toed boots, eye and hearing protection)
• Position requires standing or sitting for extended periods depending on the task.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Birmingham, AL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
