Key Qualifications:

• Valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate covering Special Education for middle school students.
• Demonstrated experience working with students on the autism spectrum, especially at the middle school level.
• Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and the ability to implement modifications and accommodations.
• Ability to create a supportive, structured, and engaging classroom atmosphere for a small group setting (8 students).
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with staff and parents.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction, support, and advocacy for middle school students in an autistic support classroom.
• Develop and carry out lesson plans tailored to individual student strengths and needs.
• Implement IEPs and monitor student progress, adjusting strategies as needed to promote success.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and families to enhance student outcomes.
• Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom culture.
• Document progress and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

This position runs ASAP through June 10, 2027, following a schedule of 7:15am to 2:45pm, 35 hours per week (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch). You will work in a setting designed to support your professional growth and student achievement, with manageable class sizes to ensure focused instruction.
