General Manager Job DescriptionReports to: Area SupervisorSupervises: Swing Managers, Department Managers, Maintenance Staff and Crew MembersOverview of PositionPosition PurposeTo provide leadership, coaching, and direction to restaurant employees, manage day-to-day restaurant operations and maximize the sales and profit of the restaurant. Consistently demonstrates McDonald's values and leadership behaviors to build positive business relationships with key customers including the Restaurant Leadership Team, Crew and Customers.The role will include the following responsibilities:OperationsLead the experience. Manage all aspects within the restaurant, including food production, guest service and experience, and direct crew and manager work.In addition to following McDonald's policies and procedures, principle accountabilities include, but are not limited to:• Responsible for leading and establishing a team while creating a positive work environment to accomplish business results. All employees within the restaurant will report to the General Manager.• Collaborates with Area Supervisor to ensure that performance targets are established and performance reviews are conducted on-time and communicated.• Involved in and participates in the recruiting, interviewing, and selection of new employees.• Protects the McDonald's brand by ensuring that restaurants meet McDonald's Food Safety, Quality, Service, and Cleanliness standards.• Demonstrates Customer-First Service by consistently observing restaurant operations, troubleshooting shift management, taking on-the-spot corrective actions, and recognizing successes.PeoplePlan for success: Proactively lead and manage all People processes including but not limited to:• Recruiting, Hiring and Onboarding• Staffing• Performance Management• Train, coach and motivate• Be in the know: Plan for and make critical business decisions around inventory, budget, and food ordering/costs• Take action first: Ensure food safety measures are set and achieved to McDonald's standards of excellence• Inspire and Empower: Maintain high level of standard for guest and employee safety• Be results oriented: Oversee all operational needs of the restaurant, including maintenance plans to meet and exceed standards of excellence.QualificationsDesired Skills and Attributes• Demonstrated people leadership and strong commitment and passion for the business.• Passion for improving the effectiveness of the McDonald's brand through profitability, people development and promotion.• Willingness to travel to restaurants throughout Virginia as needed.• Effective multitasking and organizational abilities, including strong project management skills.• Strong personal initiative. Ability to identify gaps and create solutions.• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.• Superb PC skills and database management. Keen knowledge of McDonald's tools and systems.• Strong service orientation.
