Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounts Receivable Analyst to join our Finance team at a growing retail company. This individual will be responsible for monitoring customer accounts, processing payments, reconciling accounts receivable balances, resolving deductions and payment discrepancies, and supporting timely collections.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor accounts receivable balances and follow up on past-due invoices.
- Apply customer payments and reconcile accounts to ensure accurate records.
- Investigate and resolve short payments, deductions, chargebacks, and billing discrepancies.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments to resolve outstanding issues.
- Review and maintain accounts receivable aging reports and collection records.
- Assist with month-end closing, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Research retail customer deductions related to pricing, promotions, returns, and shipping discrepancies.
- Identify opportunities to improve collection processes and cash flow.
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in accounts receivable, accounting, or collections.
- Retail, wholesale, or consumer goods industry experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP or accounting systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
